Dr. Vibe and Chetachi A. Egwu have a conversation about the state of livestreaming.

Chetachi A. Egwu is a Nigerian American professor, writer/producer, filmmaker, dancer/choreographer, artist and actor .She earned a BA in Communication from the University of Buffalo in 1996, then moved on to Howard University in Washington, DC, where she completed a Masters and Ph.D. in Mass Communication.

Dr. Egwu has served as a faculty member in the communication departments at Morgan State University, The George Washington University and Nova Southeastern University. She is currently communication faculty at the University of Maryland University College.

Her work has been featured in academic journals, newspapers and online publications such as The Grio and The Burton Wire, her creative nature reaches beyond writing. Dr. Egwu is also a dancer/choreographer and was a member of Carla and Company, Coyaba Dance Theater, Choreographers Collaboration Project in Washington DC and featured in several other projects. An avid filmmaker, she is currently co-producer and co-director for the documentaries Runway Afrique and No Justice, No Peas: Getting A Veggie In The Hood, and co-producer, director and cinematographer for the documentary Sunshine Chic. Dr. Egwu also is the host of MediaScope on the streaming platforms such as Periscope.

Celia Meikle is a Chartered Accountant, licensed with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, and has over twelve years experience in financial controllership and internal audit and over eight years in public accounting, servicing both publicly listed and private entities.

Celia’s public accounting experience was gained at PwC Canada, where she was an Assurance Manager servicing publicly listed companies, and a small accounting firm in Burlington Ontario, where her clients were mostly owner managed businesses and health care professionals (doctors, dentists etc) who were either sole proprietors or shareholders in Professional Corporations.

Celia’s financial controllership and internal audit experience was gained while working at BMO Financial Group and the TD Bank Financial Group.

Prior to immigrating to Canada in 2001, Celia worked with PwC Jamaica and the Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Ltd.

Celia currently sits on the Board of the Hamilton Burlington Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (HBSPCA) where she is the Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee. She is also the Chair of the annual Excellence Conference and a member of the Board of Directors of Projam.

Celia is a member of the Kingdom Life Ministries church in Mississauga, and is the proud mother of two sons Daniel and Jonathan.

Celia is a member of the Green, Meikle & Smith Chartered Accountants.

Dr. Vibe hosts the conversation “Are Black Women Leaving Black Men Behind?” with Zaza Ali and Dr. Tommy Curry.

ZaZa Ali is a Mother, Teacher, Activist, Radio Personality and Self-Published Author. Her first book, entitled Black Matters, Volume One – The Scientific Intervention in Our Affairs, was released in May of 2015. Volume Two – Plagues of Dysfunction, was released in December of 2016. Her third and final edition of the trilogy “Black Matters”, entitled Lifting the Veil on Racism and White Supremacy is set to be released in the Summer of 2017. A frequent speaker on behalf of women and children, ZaZa has done extensive research on the cultural norms impacting the Black community, as well as the global dichotomy of racism and it’s impact on the human family. Her popular and growing presence on social media, fueled by what some consider controversial perspectives, has aided in her work to implement programs for privately owned schools as well as provide financial assistance for women and small business owners. The message to audiences of every demographic remains the same; Self-Accountability and an Emphasis on Truth, Spiritual Development and Service to Others is the key to (R)Evolution.

Tommy J. Curry is a Professor of Philosophy at Texas A&M University. He is a Ray A. Rothrock Fellow and has commented on social matters in venues ranging from Forbes, to Sirius XM. He is the author of over 50 articles on issues of racism, anti-Black violence, and the institutionalization of Black male death. He is working on a forthcoming books on Black male vulnerability entitled the Man-Not, and the Eschatology of Kanye West. Dr. Curry is a strong advocate and thinker for the reconceptualization of Black men and boys. He is adamant that the arguments used to justify their death and incarceration by Black and white scholars alike must be challenged.
